We are a group of film makers from Minnesota seeking funding for a project titled The Jugglers, that will facilitate the financing the GREENING of the Brainerd Lakes area. Led by writers Joshua Trujillo, Jared Walker, and Jill Fey, the project is planning a feature film with a one million dollar budget.
With all box office proceeds of the film We Jugglers will go towards helping the Brainerd Lakes Area become completely reliant on wind, solar and other green energy sources it is a very unique and exciting idea that has been created to facilitate energy independance home by home.
The group plans to start filming this fall. Joshua Trujillo will be directing the film. Joshua and Jared Walker have written several screenplays one which has drawn the attention of Bob Kosberg, the Executive producer of the film Twelve Monkeys, now with Nash Entertainment in California earlier this year. Another Producer that requested their writing is Shavar Ross, a Christian Filmmaker from California who you may recognize from over a hundred television shows and feature films in the eighty's including Webster, and MacGyver. Josh has written several novels, one of which is being adapted into a screenplay by Jared Walker. Jill Fey is a young film maker from Minnesota trained in Hollywood where she worked on several short films, some of which are being considered for The Sundance Film Festival. This will be her first feature film, working as First Assistant Director with this project. The film has much support of the community where the three filmmakers grew up knowing each other since childhood. Other people will be assisting on the project that will need much support from the community. Jacob Walker, Jared's younger brother began film making very early in life with his friends and family. By sixteen he had written, and directed an award winning short film starring Jared Walker, Zion Trujillo, Ben Gordon, Jill Fey, Carrie Gordon, and Joshua Trujillo.
Why investing is the best option.
According to the boxoffice, now might be the best time to invest in films. During this our worst recession in decades, the film industry stands strong with an increase of nearly ten percent over last year. As feature films go, our modest budget when compared to hundred million dollar budgets of the summer block-busters. But Napoleon Dynamite was made for just four hundred thousand, and made over forty-six million in theaters, plus another sixty million in dvd sales. Another comedy with high numbers is Dumb and Dumber with a project budget of seventeen million, raked in two-hundred and forty-seven-million worldwide.
Several types of investors are needed, Businesses in the Brainerd area that invest ten thousand will have the opportunity to feature their business in the feature film. Private investors in the Brainerd Lakes area that invest five thousand dollars will be placed on the top of the list to have their homes upgraded to green energy.
The Numbers
With expected box office gross on a *1 million dollar film we project that we will be able to install solar panels cost-free (with a 4,000 tax rebate for the recipients as well) in **2,000 homes, that would amount to annual savings of ***$3,600 dollars per home, or $7,200,000 collectively. Those same people would most likely invest their saved money back into their local economy each year. That would amount to roughly $133,000,000 put into the local economy within 10 years (inital install costs included as all products and labor will be from local sources).
*based on similar films with similar budgets, grossing $46,000,000-$247,000,000 using a $60,000,000 average
**based on $30,000 installment costs
***based on $300 a month for utilities
