Student artists show off talents at Festival of the Arts
By JODIE TWEED
Staff Writer PEQUOT LAKES -- There were so many parked cars and trucks surrounding Pequot Lakes School on Thursday, passers-by might have thought a rock concert was being held inside.
Instead, hundreds of parents, grandparents and friends showed up to watch their own children and grandchildren perform during the 17th annual Festival of the Arts program.
The annual carnival featured roving clowns, song, dance, theater and speech performances, including art displays and demonstrations from 21 visiting artists and kindergarten through 12th-grade students.
Jugglers and "street" musicians also entertained the crowds throughout the evening, which included dinner and other snacks served by parent volunteers and the Pequot Lakes Lions Club.
